There's plenty of blog's out there so I want to start by thanking you for taking the time to read this. Alpha Mentality was founded with a simple goal in mind: help owners live a life in harmony with their dog(s). That vision is now being expanded into something bigger than Liz & I ever thought possible. Helping other owners overcome obstacles is something we have a great passion for; it's this same reason I have decided to start this blog. The goal isn't to sell you anything fancy, it's to keep it 100% raw with you all!

The Raw Blog will be focused on giving owners insights, tips, techniques, methods, as well as answer questions you may have that I can give a very detailed answer for while also giving you an example story to go with it. Being a teacher, I absolutely LOVE to write so I look forward to using this platform to share knowledge with those of you who are interesting receiving it.

While this first post is more an introduction than anything else, I do want to share how it's going with Sasha's transition into our household. Sasha has been an absolute joy to have in our home. She's beyond loving with Liz & I and we couldn't feel more blessed to have her. Many people have asked how has the transition has been for Kobe so we'll be honest and say it's been a very interesting one. The dogs have fought which was to be expected. I think one of the key reasons we were chosen to home Sasha is because of our ability to control these types of situations. Any other person that may have taken Sasha and saw their dog and her fight would have blamed her and immediately looked into rehoming her. In one of the posts I added to our instagram I spoke about understanding each of your dogs individual needs and triggers. What I am learning is that Sasha doesn't care to really play much. She much rather pace, do bite work/any type of work that gets her mind working, and relax on her own. Kobe on the other hand still has puppy energy at times, so he's tried hard to convince Sasha to play with him and this is where most issues begin. It's our job to make Kobe understand play time isn't going to happen with Sasha, so it's OUR job as owners too mentally and physically drain him so he doesn't feel the need to fulfill this desire from her. We knew what we signed up for, so doing WHATEVER is necessary to make this situation work is the ONLY option. Our goal is to find a solid routine that puts BOTH dogs in a relaxed state of mind. Once this happens, we're confident there will be little to any fights taking place.

I look forward to sharing more stories, insights, tips, and much more through this blog. Make

sure to sign up for notifications so you don't miss out! If you have any topics you would like to learn about, let me know! Maybe I'll have a blog specifically touching on a topic of your choice!
